WEEKLY ADVENTURE RECIPE

Dutch Oven Dessert Upside Down Pineapple Cake

A delicious dessert made easily.


Pineapple upside down cake 

Step one

Prep the Dutch Oven, line with heavy duty aluminum. Try not to have any seams. 

Step 2 start your Briquettes or fire wood to have the coals ready. 

Step 3 place 1/2 cup butter in Dutch oven place near fire to melt the butter. 

Step 4 add the 1 1/2 cup of brown sugar and slowly stir with a wooden spoon dissolving the brown sugar. 

Step 5 add the pineapple rings making a circle covering the bottom of the Dutch Oven. Keep the pineapple juice as a substitute for the water cake mix. 

Step 6 break the eggs into the cake mix in a mixing bowl then add the pineapple juice if needed add additional water. Mix the the ingredients together insuring there are no lumps. 

Step 7 Take the cake mix and gently pour over the pineapples and brown sugar completely covering them. 

Step 8 Placing the lid on the Dutch oven bring it to your fire source . Depending on the size of your Dutch oven will determine how many coals or briquettes will be used.

Also the weather and humidity will play a roll in the baking process also. 

For  a 12 in Dutch oven will place 15 in a checker pattern on top of the lid. 8 coals on the bottom in a circle

Pattern. Do not open Loki g at how it’s progressing as this will let out the heat. 30 minutes is a good baking time the smell of it baking will be key also. 

Add coals when needed swapping out the old ones insure to keep the temp at the same temp. 

Baking cooking with the Dutch Oven will require patience’s and practice mastering the temp will come with time. 

Remove from the coals and let cool some allowing you to slowly remove the cake and place if a plate over the cake as you carefully flip it on the the plate.

    Dutch Over Recipe 

    Make Stove Top Stuffing Meatloaf

    Spray a non-stick cooking spray in Dutch Oven.
    In a large mixing bowl, beat  the eggs and water together until well combined. Add the stuffing mix, ground beef, and 1/4 cup of ketchup. Use your hands to mix the ingredients together until well combined.

    Place  the meat inside the Dutch Oven  and shape the meat into a loaf.

    Brush the meatloaf evenly with the remaining ketchup.

    Bake for 20-30 minutes, placing 8 coals on bottom and 14 coals on top. Check 15 minutes in. 

    Ingredients beef – it’s best to use the leanest cut of ground beef 85/15 or 90/10.

    Stove Top Stuffing mix – flavor of your choice 

    Eggs –  large eggs.

    Ketchup –  ketchup is a perfect glaze for the meatloaf.
